This genuine Mid Twentieth Century African Figure is hand carved from a very light wood and then finished with a black wax. I believe the wood could be Koto from West Africa and from the design the piece is possibly Kota (Bakota) which originates from Gabon West Africa. We are not experts in African sculpture, but we do know the lines and form of this piece has a real presence.
