This sinuous and sensual female form is hand carved in a fruit wood, possibly Cherry and is believed to have originated from the Mediterranean area, possibly Cyprus. The Artist is unknown as the piece is unsigned. It did have a crack which has been professionally stabilised and restored (see close up image), but this does not detract from this very impressively executed small sculpture.
