This beautifully observed hand carved piece by renowned British Sculptor Constance-Anne Parker has a very Mid-Century British School feel to it and is reminiscent of Dame Barbara Hepworth's early 'mother & child' figural pieces. It is signed in felt tip pen on the underside (see images).

Constance Anne Parker was a sculptor and painter who lived and worked in London, studied at the Royal Academy Schools between 1946 and 1951 where she won four silver and two bronze medals. She studied under William Dring, held positions at the Royal Academy and was a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors.
