This very stylish abstract of a cellist is signed and dated by the artist 'J Owens 1980' Sadly we have not been able to find out anything about 'J Owens' which is a real shame as they have captured so much movement in this small sculpture.
It has been hand carved in a fruit wood which we believe is pear and has one small dowel repair which appears original and was possibly to replace a natural knot. In addition there are some tiny marks commensurate with the age of the piece.
