This is truly an impressive and rare Bronze by the French Artist Claude Viret and is an anthropomorphic study of a female double-bass, hence the title 'Countrebasse?' which translates into English as 'Double-Bass?'
The Bronze is hollow cast and has been finished in a black patina. At the rear it has the Artist's cast signature, and it comes with its original certificate of authentication again in French. The certificate is hand signed by Claude Viret and records this particular Sculpture as the first of a limited edition of only four.
