This is a unique sculpture with a real presence. It has been beautifully hand carved in English Alabaster by the renowned Artist Jean Parker who titled the piece 'Timeless'. She has created a perfect shell emerging from rough rock giving the appearance of a huge fossil.

This Sculpture really comes to life when back lit with the golden hues of the Alabaster glow with the warmth of a log fire.  Alabaster is a very soft stone and as such this is an interior sculpture. That said this is a true statement piece which would impose itself in any setting.

The piece will be supplied with Jean's certificate of authentication.

ARTIST: JEAN PARKER  : 1936–2017

With a background of teaching and a family of four children, it was not until mid-life that the opportunity arose for Jean's artistic energies to be given full expression. She studied art as a mature student for four years in Coventry and later completed a Master of Arts degree. Jean honed her cutting skills in Italy and England, notably at Canterbury and Liverpool Cathedrals,
She worked in stone, clay and bronze, and her themes were universal. Religion, psychology, and personal relationships provide an endless source of inspiration, expressed in both figurative and abstract form. Jean ‘retired’ to Bude and sadly passed away in 2017.
Examples of Jean's work in stone include the 1985 figurative sculpture 'The Enfolding', commissioned by the council for Coventry and sited in the city’s Peace Garden. Her 1995 piece 'In the Stillness'  was made for the University of Warwick’s science park and 2001 piece 'The Eye of the Needle', is at St Augustine’s School, Kenilworth.
